H&S IT partners with University IT to provide desktop support and IT consultation.

Printing & Photocopying
All departmental copy machines are managed by Cardinal Print. Locations include:
- Front Office → staff & lecturers
- Faculty Lounge → faculty use
- Graduate Lounge → graduate student use
How to Print
- Upload documents to My Print Center or install the Cardinal Print Driver on your device
- To retrieve your print job(s), scan your Stanford ID or log in with your SUNet ID and password at any Cardinal Printer copy machine.

Teaching Assistants or Teaching Affiliates can receive a Cardinal Print allowance for small volume printing and copy fees in support of teaching. To request the allowance, contact the Assistant DFO.
Printing Policies
- Printers are for departmental business and are shared by many.
- No large volume printing or photocopying for research purposes is permitted.
- Course readers may not be copied on department machines. See the section on Course Readers for further information.
- Regular faculty have personal printers for research/personal use. Department covers the cost of paper for faculty printers. Toner and ink should be purchased with research funds. Contact the Senior Finance Associate for guidance on purchasing printers or toner with research funds.
- Use black & white ink when possible (color costs 9x more).
Sending & Receiving Mail
Outgoing Mail
- The outgoing mail box is located at the reception desk in the Main Office.
- All outgoing mail posted by the department must be for department or faculty research business.
- Mail over the weight limit (domestic >13oz, international >1oz) must be taken to the Post Office. Pay with a PCard or submit the receipt for reimbursement from your research account.
Incoming Mail
- Incoming mail boxes for faculty are located in the faculty lounge.
- Lecturers and staff have a mailbox in the Main Office during the length of their appointment.
- Graduate students have individual mail boxes in the graduate student lounge on the third floor.
FedEx
- FedEx mailing supplies are kept in the Main Office supply room.
- Faculty can ship research packages through Stanford’s online FedEx account. Each faculty member may request an individual account linked to their research funds (contact the Assistant DFO for setup/training).
- You may also ship directly at a FedEx location and pay with a PCard or request reimbursement. if you are at a FedEx location, do not attempt to pay using your Stanford FedEx account number. Pay with a PCard and do not provide the Stanford FedEx account number. For department business mailings, ask the Assistant DFO or Senior Finance Associate to create a shipping label (include the detailed business purpose).
