Classroom Requests

Room Scheduling

The Department of Art & Art History manages two classrooms (350 & 360), two seminar rooms (007 & 370), and an auditorium (Oshman Hall) in the McMurtry Building.

How to make a room request for a scheduled course?

  • Room requests must be made two (2) weeks prior to the start of classes at any given quarter with the Student Services Specialist. This includes requests for rooms in addition to the one that has been pre-scheduled for your course.
  • If last-minute changes arise after the two-week window, Student Services can still accept room requests. However, these late requests will be handled on a case-by-case basis and may be subject to limitations, as room availability at that time cannot be guaranteed.
  • Requests must included your course title, dates, and times needed for the additional room.
  • All requests are verified by the Registrar's office. Please verify that your room request complies with the University's allowable times, otherwise the Registrar may not approve it.

Oshman Hall

Oshman Hall is controlled by the Registrar's office between the hours of 9am and 4:20pm on weekdays. The Department of Art & Art History manages the room after 4:20pm and on weekends. Reservations during the Registrar's-controlled hours may be requested by the department but need to be approved by the Registrar. For reservations and support during department-controlled hours, please contact the following staff:

For AV support during classes, please contact the Art Media Technologist. AV support needs for classes and events after 4:20pm should be discussed when making the reservation.

  • Room Requests for special events should be directed to the Events & Communications Manager.
  • Maker Spaces are managed by the respective Art Practice Lab Manager. For more information, visit the Art Practice Resource Guide.
